Meet Nina

Nina Ru Rou Gerzema is a New York City–based storyteller, writer, photographer, and creative producer interested in the human and cultural insights into how people live, connect, and remember. Her work spans photojournalism, creative writing, social content strategy, copywriting, audience insights, and brand storytelling.

A 2025 graduate of the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, where she studied Photojournalism and minored in Creative Writing, Nina has contributed to The Daily Orange as Assistant Photo Editor and BAKED Magazine as Photo Editor. Her experience also includes work with The Harris Poll, VML, Shiseido Americas, and Brian Dorsey Studios across editorial, brand, social, and production environments.

Born in Beihai, China, adopted at age one, and raised in New York City, Nina is drawn to stories about identity, place, memory, food, travel, and belonging. Outside of her work, she loves cooking, freestyle baking, writing fiction, coffee, chocolate, and photographing her dog, Daisy.
